Ammonium Sulphate is an inorganic salt that has a variety of industrial applications. Due to its 21% (w/w) nitrogen and 24% (w/w) sulphur content, the chemical is most frequently used as a soil fertiliser. The substance has also been utilised in flame retardant chemicals because, when used as a flame retardant, it lowers the maximum weight loss rates, raises the temperature at which a material will burn, and increases the amount of residue or char that will be produced.
